We trace our journey back to humble beginnings made in 2002, when we launched an embedded technology training centre in Hubli. It was a bold step taken after due cognizance of the shortage of industry-ready IT professionals.

Two years down the line, Gururaj Deshpande, our mentor and guide and US-based CEO of Sycamore Networks Inc, inaugurated our development centre, also in Hubli. In 2004, we also launched a CNC trainer lathe controller project at the incubation center of BVB College of Engineering & Technology. A year later, we had the privilege of demonstrating the finished product, the CNC controller, to Bob Hoekstra, CEO, Phillips India, and the rest, as they say, is history!

We went on to setup a branch office in Bangalore, to facilitate our next phase of expansion – training assignments for Infosys, GE Transport, Wipro, and a handful of other established corporate houses. In 2006, we also took up the development of a Driver Information System and automotive Power Window module. This led to our being awarded a product development assignment for GE Transportation Systems in the subsequent year. With the aim of strengthening our training base, we developed special hardware.

The year 2008 saw us being signed on as an exclusive training partner of the International Institute of Information Technology – Bangalore, to provide 100 days of training in embedded systems to their students. We were also appointed exclusive all India training partner of Freescale Semiconductors (Motorola chips) for their corporate and university training programmes. Another major achievement was the development of a Data Logger Interface Module for GE Transportation Systems. We successfully carried out every stage of product development, from conceptualization to manufacturing the hardware, firmware, testing and installation. Phase II of this assignment is presently underway.

Our association with Freescale was strengthened last year, with us being nominated as Freescale Design Alliance Partner. We also launched two import substitute development products for Freescale Semiconductors (India) – a BDM Programmer and a Gang Programmer. The year 2009 saw us prepare for further growth by registering Unified Softech as a private company and bringing on-board our mentor and guide Gururaj Deshpande and Vivek Pawar, CEO, Sankalp Semiconductors, as specialist advisors.
