UNIQIT - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

For the first time, UNIQIT provides many key advantages in a single tool chain,

  • Comprehensive features with 9 microcontroller platforms,40 on-board & plug-in peripheral modules & growing.
  • Easy, Scalable and Reconfigurable capabilities due to modular design.
  • Wide range of in-system controller & peripheral choices ensure fast turnaround times and opens up the possibility of entire product development or proof of concept without a single solder or special order of PCB/component.
  • Re-usability in a wide range of product capability needs, without additional BOM, effectively reduces ownership-cost and preserves asset value.
  • Above-all re-usable embedded ‘C’ code libraries for hardware abstraction.

Q. How does UNIQIT help me build prototypes quickly and easily ?

  • The UNIQIT packages a host of different controller/processor core based MCU and support components in a practical form-factor, ideal for experimenting without the need of through-hole PCBs & soldering.
  • The UNIQIT Embedded ‘C’ Libraries provide high-level interfaces to microcontroller peripherals, enabling a clean and compact approach to coding.
  • This combination gives immediate connectivity to peripherals and modules for prototyping and iteration of microcontroller based system designs, providing developers with the freedom to be more innovative and more productive.

Q. Who is UNIQIT for ?

  • Corporates can be more productive and adventurous in the proof-of-concept stages of development.
  • Engineers new to embedded applications can use UNIQIT to experiment and test product ideas that could benefit from advanced microcontrollers.
  • Marketing, Sales, Application Engineers and Distributors can use UNIQIT as a consistent platform for demonstration, evaluation and support of microcontrollers, middleware and associated components.
  • Education Institutions, Enthusiasts and Inventors can use UNIQIT as an accessible way to experiment with the application of microcontrollers without worrying about hardware implementation details. The students get the complete range to bring their imagination to reality within the college premises, without having to depend on any external agency that may put the students into difficulty.

As a result, the UNIQIT tool chain will help a diverse audience, exploit the opportunities presented by advanced microcontrollers when introduced to their own area of expertise.

Q. What do you mean by “ tool chain”?
Toolchain is a rapid product prototyping & development system which combines a reliable multi-use hardware platform with related programming & configuring software and an extensive library of interface software. The toolchain comes ready with embedded ‘C’ code libraries which make it as easy as pick & drop to create the hardware abstraction and interface layer. This allows the development team/trainee to focus completely on application development & drastically reduced time to prototype.

*Example embedded ‘C’ code supplied with the toolchain enables the trainees to get a guided walk-through, for developing hardware interfaces & drivers, thus strengthening their roots in Embedded Systems Design.

Q. Can I use the code provided with UNIQIT for production?
The libraries are designed for prototyping as part of UNIQIT; they are provided "as is," but could theoretically be used in a production system at no cost.

Q. Are there any Hands-on Seminars / Training Programs based on UNIQIT?
Complementing these product offerings are a wide range of service, training and support options, ranging from one-week training classes to full turn-key services as it  provides all of the elements needed to quickly implement any Embedded Prototype.
